I Drink This Juice 2 Hours Before Bed Every Evening and Sleep Like a Baby!

Insomnia was one of the toughest symptoms I had to overcome when I started my thyroid healing journey. Through my own trial and error, I discovered that eating a nourishing, light, paleo whole foods dinner, followed by this green juice 2 hours before bed was the ticket to a great night’s sleep. Each ingredient in this juice is soothing and healing, like cancer fighting watercress, plus the magnesium boost from the spinach and chard balances blood sugars and can help you sleep. Pure, comforting deliciousness!

If you don’t have a juicer, this is one of my favorites and the one I use most regularly. You can often find them on sale at stores or on Amazon. If your budget is stretched,  you can even use credit card miles to purchase. Investing in a juicer was one of the best decisions my family made for our health. Juicing regularly, especially before bed, has helped me slim down and reduce the bloat as well – it’s worth it if only for that! 🙂

Ingredients
  1. 1 Pear
  2. 1 Bunch of Mint
  3. 1 Bunch Watercress
  4. 2 Limes
  5. 4 Green Chard Leaves
  6. 1 Cup of Spinach
  7. 2 Cucumbers
  8. 3 Celery
Instructions
  1. Place each ingredient into a juicer and juice.
  2. Drink immediately.

    Isn’t spinach and chard bad for thyroid from a goitrogenic point of view??

      Hi Jane,

      It really depends on the quantity you’re ingesting every day. In moderation, they are usually fine and very healthy for you. If you are eating loads of them raw, they can become a problem…and cooking them for side dishes usually mitigates the goitrogenic issue. Moderation is the key though whether raw or cooked.
